Une Soirée Disco pour célébrer les sports! (École secondaire catholique La Citadelle, Cornwall)
Le 10 juin 2014 - C’est une année remplie d’exploits au niveau des sports à l'École secondaire catholique La Citadelle. L’association athlétique a tenu le vendredi 30 mai son gala sportif annuel. Cette année, sous le thème d’une soirée Disco, les athlètes et les entraîneurs avaient plusieurs exploits à célébrer, dont plus d’une dizaine de championnats SDG, un championnat EOSSAA, deux médailles d’or aux tournois Franco et trois athlètes représentant notre forteresse au championnat OFSAA de course de fond, de golf et de badminton.
Environ une centaine de Patriotes étaient présents pour le gala sportif 2014. Pendant la soirée, plusieurs médailles et trophées ont été décernés aux athlètes de l’école. Les trophées d’athlètes de l’année furent remis à Adriana Conti, athlète junior féminine, Devin Radley, athlète junior masculin, Myriam Fontaine, athlète sénior féminine et Samuel Tremblay, athlète sénior masculin.
Le trophée du meilleur esprit sportif était attribué à Reeve Nicholson, Caleb Fontaine et Adriana Conti. Dans les disciplines sportives, sept autres médailles furent accordées à des élèves démontrant un leadership et un esprit sportif au delà des autres. Les récipiendaires du trophée Louise Charron étaient Mélanie Carrière et Derek Lister. Les athlètes ayant gagné le trophée Paul Charron étaient Samantha Bourdeau, Danica DeRepentigny et Mathieu Leroux. Le trophée Claude Séguin fut attribué à Myriam Fontaine et Christivie Antonio. Les autres médailles étaient reliées aux habiletés, à l’effort, à l’amélioration, à l’excellence et au dévouement dans les disciplines sportives. Félicitations à tous nos athlètes et merci pour une excellente saison sportive 2013-2014!
L’École secondaire catholique La Citadelle et son Pavillon intermédiaire comptent une population estudiantine de plus de 700 élèves de la 7e à la 12e année. Le personnel dévoué de l’école compte près d’une centaine de personnes et assure une éducation hors pair aux élèves de la région de Cornwall depuis maintenant 40 ans.

La Citadelle’s Disco Athletic Banquet a big hit!
June 10, 2014 - The past season for École secondaire catholique La Citadelle athletes has been a great one! The school’s athletic association held their annual Athletic Banquet, on Friday, May 30, 2014. This year’s theme, Disco Night, welcomed athletes and coaches with flashy colours, neon flowers and streamers. They had plenty to celebrate with over ten SD&G championships, two gold medals at the Provincial Franco Tournaments, one EOSSA championship, and three athletes representing their school at the OFSAA championship in golf, cross country and badminton.
Over one hundred Patriots were present at the Gala. At the end of the night, La Citadelle’s athletes received numerous prizes, medals and trophies. Prestigeous honours were received by Adriana Conti, junior female athlete of the year, Devin Radley, junior male athlete of the year, Myriam Fontaine, senior female athlete of the year, and Samuel Tremblay, senior male athlete of the year.
Sportsmanship was in the night’s focus as well. Reeve Nicholson, Caleb Fontaine and Adriana Conti were given the award for athletes showing the most sportsmanship. Within the different disciplines of the season, seven other awards were given for great leadership and outstanding devotion towards sports. Recipients for the Trophée Louise Charron were Mélanie Carrière and Derek Lister. Recipients for the Paul Charron Trophy were Samantha Bourdeau, Danica DeRepentigny and Mathieu Leroux. Lastly, recipients for the Claude Séguin Trophy were Myriam Fontaine and Christivie Antonio. Other medals and trophies were awarded for ability, effort, improvement, excellence and dedication throughout various sports. Congratulations to all of our athletes and thank you for an amazing 2013-2014 season.
École secondaire catholique La Citadelle and its Pavillon intermédiaire are home to more than 700 students from Grade 7 to Grade 12. The school has almost 100 devoted staff members, who have been ensuring an outstanding education to students in the Cornwall region for the last 40 years.
